Fundraising · Selling

A school sells your products, keeps its share, and nobody keeps a spreadsheet.

A cause gets its own page, its sellers get their own links, and what it has earned is credited from the money itself — then paid on the schedule you agreed.

What you get

Every sale is paid to you, through your own checkout and your own Stripe account. What the fundraiser has earned is a balance you owe it, paid monthly, fortnightly or once at the end.

A basket that arrived through a seller's link carries it, and the order is stamped with the fundraiser and the seller as it is paid — by trigger, so attribution never depends on the checkout remembering.

The share is credited when an order is paid and taken back when a refund succeeds. Nobody is credited for an order nobody paid for, and nobody keeps a share of one that was given back.

The share is of the products only. Shipping and tax are never shared, which is the thing that quietly goes wrong when this is run on a spreadsheet.

A statement gathers every unpaid line up to a date; you mark it paid with a reference when the money actually goes out.

How it runs

A school's autumn drive, start to finish.

  1. 1

You set the fundraiser up: its page, its story, its goal, its share and when it gets paid.

  2. 2

Every seller gets a link of their own and a place on the leaderboard.

  3. 3

Orders come in through those links and are stamped as they are paid.

  4. 4

At month's end a statement gathers what is owed; you pay it however you pay anybody and record the reference against it.

The questions people ask

Who holds the money?
You do, throughout. Everything runs through your own checkout and your own Stripe account; the fundraiser's share is a balance you owe and settle on its schedule, not money sitting somewhere else.
What happens when a customer gets a refund?
The share comes straight back off, by the same trigger that put it on. It is worked out from the money rather than from a report, so the two cannot drift apart.
Do organisers need a staff login?
No. A fundraiser's organisers get their own login and their own dashboard for the fundraisers they run — no account on your till, no access to anything else.
