The River, Two Minutes From The Porch
Right across the road from The Grove, at the mouth of Grinder's Creek, the Buffalo River Blueway public access opens onto one of the prettiest slow stretches of Tennessee's longest unimpounded river. It was established by Lewis County and the State of Tennessee so everybody could get to the water — and folks do, all summer long.
It's a favorite spot to cast a line for smallmouth, cool off in the swimming hole by the gravel bar, take a turn on the rope swing, or spread lunch out at the picnic pavilion under the trees. The bank is easy walking, the water is slow and clear, and the Highway 48 bridge pool holds fish year-round.
Paddlers use the access to put in and take out — and since we're right across the street, you can pick up a kayak or canoe from us, grab bait, ice, and snacks at the store, and be on the water in minutes.

Know Before You Go
The Blueway is a public access area managed with the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, and the posted rules keep it nice for everyone:
- Picnicking is welcome — camping isn't (the campground across the street is us, come stay!)
- No alcohol or drugs; it's a family-friendly park
- Keep music low and clean, dress decent
- Pack out everything you bring in
- Swimming is at your own risk — keep clear of boat ramps
